Bringing young people to chamber music

We passionately believe in sharing our music with young people. It is exciting to think that we could unlock something in them that might change their lives forever. The Cavatina Chamber Music trust is an amazing organization. They are continually setting up concerts for us, and other chamber groups, in London and beyond. We love the students' uninhibited reactions to the music, and openness in sharing their boundless imaginations. Our concerts last for an hour, and we usually play a selection of some of the most exciting, dramatic, emotive pieces from the string quartet repertoire. These are interspersed with musical games and educational chat about our instruments and what we do. The children are encouraged to respond to the music by writing poems or drawing pictures.
